Sacred Fellowship Ministries (SFM) was founded on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Brooklyn, New York by Rev. Dr. Lynn R. Sexton. Rev. Lynn accepted the call to embrace the vision that God had given her for ministry. Simultaneously, God provided confirmation and support from those who felt called to step out with her. SFM meetings were held on Sundays and began as ‘house church’ in the homes of those who opened their doors and were led to support the foundation of this new church.
For the first four weeks of June the group focused in on the founding scripture, found in Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.” Each week there was teaching and discussion on the Lord’s house and the importance of each room. Sunday worship meetings included prayer, praise songs, testimony, scripture reading, offering and words of inspiration.
On June 29, 2014 SFM held their first public service at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center (BCPC), and services were held there until August 2, 2015. On August 9, 2015 SFM held the first service in their new home at 2519 Atlantic Avenue where services and church activity is currently held.
